Separate Checks with QuickSplit - The Best Check Splitter / Tip Calculator...Period App Reviews

Let me just say that I have a lot of friends incapable of fairly splitting a check. Even when we separate the check on paper, it rarely comes out right, and I always get stuck with paying the difference. This app keeps that from happening. I used it at lunch today and was impressed by how simple and how helpful it was. Everyone paid their proper amount, and the total came out correct for the first time ever. I can only imagine how much money this app would have saved me if I had it over the last few years. Thanks for a great app that will pay for itself many times over.

This app is very useful for those who like to be specific, clear, and fair at the moment of dividing the check at the restaurant, bar, or any place where the total cost needs to be paid by more than one individual. I would like for this app to allow typing in and saving information such as, names of regular individuals who share the costs, label items (appetizer, entreé, dessert, drinks, etc.), or name them if the check is not from a restaurant or bar (grocery store, video rental, etc.) These ideas might be considered for future updates.

Just used this last night, and made the bill splitting amongst a large group of people that much more faster and fairer. Spending 99 cents on this app probably saved me at least 10 dollars last night. In future updates, it would be nice to edit and save names of people who you might eat out with often

This is a simple but very useful app. It does what it says it does very well. Still, there are a few nuisances that need to be fixed before it can become the best and only app you will need for tip calculations and check splitting: * Should be able to edit and delete items once created. Right now once you create an item it is final; you cant modify or delete it. * Allow storing peoples names so you can select them instead of typing them each time. * Allow selecting peoples names from contact list to avoid typing them. * Allow decreasing quantities for a person when creating items.

Excelent App. Just add the contacts integration and saving/editing features and its a killer five star app

This is far and away the best check splitting app out there. The simple way that you enter totals and assign items to the people in your party is a no brainer. It has saved many an argument during department lunches.

Definitely exactly what is needed to properly separate a check accordingly to what each person ate. If two people shared a dish, it will automatically divide the cost up between the two people. Much better than those typical tip calculators.

I bought Separate Checks because it is the first check splitting app I have found in the iTunes store that fully separates what people in a group owe according to what they actually ate or drank. In my original review of this app I made some suggestions that the developer has now integrated into the app with the last update. So now I am happy to say this app is better than ever, and I do not know why anyone would pay for a simple tip calculator when they can pay the same price for "Separate Checks" and get both a tip calculator and check slitter in one awesome app. It kind of bugs me that everybody who gave this app a 1 or 2 star rating didnt even bother to write anything as to why they do not like this app. As you can see, all the people who did take the time to write something gave this app 4+ stars.

Things Id like to see in future versions: 1. When entering the cost of each item use the number keyboard versus the alpha-numeric one that is currently being used. 2. Update the graphics. Not completely necessary, but would add a lot of polish to the app. Otherwise I think this is a great start.

Just what Ive been looking for in an app that the other tip calculators dont offer! I got it today, tried it at lunch with co-worker and now I am so much happier that Im not the one anymore that is always putting out extra $$ just to make sure the server gets a decent tip! Yay! It is a little cumbersome and not very cool looking but it does the job which is more than any other app can do. Also, this is TightApps most useful app. The others are the type that you use once and forget about...

Actually this is a pretty good check splitting app, and there are many. There are a few shortcomings that have already been suggested and sounds like they may be addressed in the next version. Good job to the developer, this may be the best one yet.

The new version is MUCH better than the previous version. It has many new features on top of the same basic approach as before. I had sent them suggestions regarding deficiencies in the previous version, and all of those suggestions are included plus more. I now cannot think of anything more I would want, so I will return to using it regularly. I highly recommend it.

This version is much better. Easier to understand and is very functional. This is a great app for the times when you are dining with a group and its not always an easy or equal split. This app has all areas in ways of splits, taxes, tips covered.

Worked perfectly everything you try to work out in your head when splitting the check I have two suggestions 1 be able to change from accurate and round after its been created 2 choose names from contacts (&type still)

Works perfectly, a perfect user interface, easy to navigate at a very reasonable price. I run a dining out group and often find restaurants that refuse to do separate checks. This app is worth its weight in gold. Thanks!!!

The app does what it says it will quite well. The UI is very simple and intuitive. Future options should include an option where you split an item with someone.

Entering info for an exact check is beyond tedious. Tried it one night with a group of 7. We finally gave up. Estimate and exact should be combined. Check items should be savable for later use. And like grocery Iq, we should be able to save restaurants with menu items to save time on the next visit. For $.99 its fine. Looks good, but it could offer more and be worth more.

All the other tip calcs simply add the tip and divide the total by the number of diners. I can do that simple math with the built-in calculator. Plus, how is it fair for the guy who ordered a burger and soda to pay the same as the guy who ordered lobster and 3 beers? Separate Checks is brilliant. Finally an app that can figure out a check accurately and quickly. The apps user interface is slick and pretty, making what could be a tedious chore much more bearable. Sure, the larger checks might take a bit to figure out, but its usually those larger checks where you, or someone else, winds up overpaying! This is a great app as-is, and any improvements from this point will be gravy.

Intuitive interface, nice assortment of options for separating checks and features to save information on groups and checks. Nicely done.

This is a confusing, non-intuitive app. Takes too many steps to do anything. Waste of money
