Weve all been there, right? Youre having a nice lunch with your friends or co-workers, everyones talking and laughing…then the check comes. Suddenly, its like the showdown at the O.K. Corral. You all wait to see who will be the first to draw. Its time to split the check, and you all know that whoever takes care of it will probably end up paying way more than their share.

Fear no more. Theres a new sheriff in town, and its name is Separate Checks. With Separate Checks on your iPhone or iPod touch, you can pick up that check without worrying about overpaying. It will still split things right down the middle if thats what you want, but when you choose one of the other check splitter features, this app will more than pay for itself the very first time out of the holster.

Enter the menu items and tell Separate Checks how to divide them. Separate Checks will tell you what everyone owes, right down to the penny; including each persons share of the tax and tip. It will even split the cost of shared items, like appetizers.

The "QuickSplit" feature is a quick way to divvy things up, if youre in a hurry. Move the slider bars to show the approximate price of each meal, and separate checks keeps a running tally of the remaining amount. This feature has been getting a lot of positive response!

Once youve seen this app in action, youll never be afraid to be the first to draw, again. Youll walk into any restaurant or saloon with knowing youre not going to overpay, because Separate Checks has got your back!

Let me just say that I have a lot of friends incapable of fairly splitting a check. Even when we separate the check on paper, it rarely comes out right, and I always get stuck with paying the difference. This app keeps that from happening. I used it at lunch today and was impressed by how simple and how helpful it was. Everyone paid their proper amount, and the total came out correct for the first time ever. I can only imagine how much money this app would have saved me if I had it over the last few years. Thanks for a great app that will pay for itself many times over.
This app is very useful for those who like to be specific, clear, and fair at the moment of dividing the check at the restaurant, bar, or any place where the total cost needs to be paid by more than one individual. I would like for this app to allow typing in and saving information such as, names of regular individuals who share the costs, label items (appetizer, entreé, dessert, drinks, etc.), or name them if the check is not from a restaurant or bar (grocery store, video rental, etc.) These ideas might be considered for future updates.
Just used this last night, and made the bill splitting amongst a large group of people that much more faster and fairer. Spending 99 cents on this app probably saved me at least 10 dollars last night. In future updates, it would be nice to edit and save names of people who you might eat out with often
This is a simple but very useful app. It does what it says it does very well. Still, there are a few nuisances that need to be fixed before it can become the best and only app you will need for tip calculations and check splitting: * Should be able to edit and delete items once created. Right now once you create an item it is final; you cant modify or delete it. * Allow storing peoples names so you can select them instead of typing them each time. * Allow selecting peoples names from contact list to avoid typing them. * Allow decreasing quantities for a person when creating items.
Excelent App. Just add the contacts integration and saving/editing features and its a killer five star app
This is far and away the best check splitting app out there. The simple way that you enter totals and assign items to the people in your party is a no brainer. It has saved many an argument during department lunches.

Some bad moments

This is a confusing, non-intuitive app. Takes too many steps to do anything. Waste of money
I was using it for the first time and liking it and 2 times it shut off right in the middle. I deleted the app because I dont have the patience for that.
Loved this ap Neil the latest upgrade - now it doesnt work and the instructions are useless. Have to go look for a new one.
This use to be awesome...not its cumbersome. Too many steps required and overly time consuming.
This app used to be amazing. Now it just doesnt work. People are referred to as "tabs" and you cant edit names properly anymore, you cant save groups, you cant edit items names... Every input field is broken and doesnt work. Its just garbage now. Dont update and save you some trouble! Developer, PLEASE, bring the old version back! Your app used to be great. Its just too complicated and tiresome to use now. This was such a massive downgrade...
